Michaelangelo’s ‘David’ is one of the crowning achievements of Western Civilization. For over five centuries, it has epitomized the pinnacle of artistic skill and the sheer beauty of the human form. It is also a profoundly spiritual work, it portrays the Biblical hero going forth to meet an unvanquishable enemy, armed only with his faith, and a humble shepherd’s sling and stone. Indeed, the sculpture was commissioned by a church, and displayed there for many years, precisely because it showcased Christian values. I’ve never seen it myself, although over a million tourists do so every year, but I understand its visual and emotional impact is devastating. Even contemplating a simple photograph, I feel the same awe and beauty and power I feel when I witness a storm at sea, the Milky Way on a clear dark night, or a total eclipse of the Sun. It is one of the most beautiful things humanity has produced, and all the proof we should ever need that the Divine exists within us, as well. One of us made this. We have every right to be here.

And yet, there are drooling ignorant barbarians in our country who see this as pornography, as something indecent and perverse and filthy. This is the mentality that seeks to take over America, to infiltrate its government and its institutions, to write its history and form its very culture. This vermin seeks to impose its grotesque values and superstitions on the rest of us. We must never let these savages get away with this. If we do, our posterity will never forgive us and we will be remembered in shame forever.
