War Comix March 22, 2023 4:31 pm ER

When I was a kid, i used to enjoy comic books. One popular sub-genre of the vast category was the “war comic”. Most of these were pretty formulaic, standard stories of infantry combat set in WWII or Korea, written for pre-teen boys.

But one, in particular, was quite interesting. It was set in the near future (50-100 years ahead of the time of publication), and it was quite accurate in predicting some modern developments, like shoulder-mounted anti-tank and anti-aircraft weapons, tactical nukes and extensive use of drones in combat and recon, and other modern developments, like night-vision devices. No ray guns, levitating tanks or cloaking devices, but a few pretty savvy forecasts for a 60-70 year prediction of future war.

Anybody ever run across any of these?
