Being perpetually stuck indoors has led to new and creative forays into food, which has yielded interesting results. I’ve heard of things like Baked Apples and Compote before, but never bothered to try them. Now that I have the time, I’ve taken to experimenting with a few recipes.
This. Shit. Is. Delicious.
I can’t understate how tasty this stuff is. It works great if you’re on a budget, takes little time, and I don’t find myself wandering to the corner market every other day for fast food junk. Plus, it goes well with everything. Banana compote and rice? Breakfast. Baked banana and sardines? Lunch and dinner. Baked apple, sugar and butter? Dessert. Hell, forget the sugar. And the butter.
Gonna try strawberries next – any suggestions for after? I’ll post results here.
