American Democracy is Resilient November 10, 2022 3:19 pm BuckGalaxy

I understand where some of you are coming from, but consider this: Trump was likely the worst stress test on our democratic system in our nation’s history. But the system survived him. Now some would argue that if a number of lower level officials had bent to Trump’s demands in Georgia, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, etc, the situation would have been different. But even in that nightmare scenario there is no way imo that flim flam on that scale would have gone unopposed. Yes it would have been a major constitutional crisis, but I can’t see the courts, the press, the people – including conscientious republicans – standing by and letting it happen. Without evidence, the courts would never accept the appointing of fake electors. The rule of law would prevail and those who defied the courts would be arrested. I mean no offense as I have tremendous respect for all of you intellectually, but you guys are a bit far out there in left field on this. The predictions that these midterms would be the end of our democracy or cause violent uprisings as the best case scenario did not materialize. America has endured the Trump nightmare and his day in the spotlight appears to be fading fast. Have hope. Trust the resiliency of our democracy.
