Had the wealthy nations simply invested the amount their stock markets dropped on this news yesterday to vaccinate the poorer nations of the world, the odds of this happening would have been greatly reduced. Had the American  right not promoted conspiracy theories about the vaccine the odds of this happening would have been reduced. If people had simply listened to the science on masking and vaccines, the odds of this would have been reduced.

Had we provided the poor nations of the world with the vaccine, we could have avoided the death and economic destruction still to come…
