My brother, the Trumper, wanted to know why I was so furious about the RBG replacement nomination. I asked him to consider how the GOP action after their obstruction of the Merrick Garland nomination during the Obama Administration was so outrageous and hypocritical. He had never heard of it.

When I remarked it was as indicative of our sad state of affairs as the Reichstag fire had been in 1930s Germany, he had never heard of that either.
And he was a history major. He graduated from the same school I did, but about 20 years later.

And last Sunday, when I was desperate for the news to start so I could get caught up on the latest Washington political reporting, the network news hour was cancelled on all three of the major networks (we don’t have cable). ABC, NBC and CBS had canceled the national news on account of soccer, College Football, and a basketball game.

Yeah I know, I could have watched Meet the Press and Face the Nation that morning, but our local stations broadcast them both at the same time so I can only watch one of them.

Jesus fuck, I am so depressed.
