Things are starting to get strange. Its starting to look like the late Middle Ages, or Roman Palestine in the first century. The world is starting to resemble a Hieronymous Bosch painting. Weird cults are flourishing and civilization is under attack by a tsunami of irrationality.

It would be nice to blame this all on Trump, the alt-right or Putin’s troll farms, but I think it goes deeper than that. Those are symptoms, not causes. We’re approaching some kind of critical mass, some odd cultural resonance, where all the bad vibrations are interfering constructively with one another.

We need a Hari Seldon to make sense of all this. Could this be the Singularity?
