President Trump has authorized an extraordinary Justice Department investigation by AG Barr, the Lackey-in-Chief, into the origins of the Mueller Probe, thereby not only initiating the official punishment of those involved with it, but also making it clear that such an action will never be tolerated by the Executive Branch again. So far, no Republican of any power or influence in the government has reacted in outrage about this.

Whether or not this succeeds remains to be seen, but one thing is clear; there is no way both Trump and American Democracy will emerge from this unscathed.
