Supposing. April 28, 2015 2:39 pm bowser

Suppose that in the next 50 years it is established that not only are there hundreds of reasonably close planets out there which DO support life.

Also suppose that a number of those exhibit electromagnetic radiation which establishes that life on some of those planets has developed intelligence and the ability to manipulate their environment.

Mankind realizes that it is not alone, it is not unique and considering how many other galaxies there are we happen to be only one of the exhibits in the Universal zoo.

Would most of us be happy about that?  What would that do to our self-image?  How would the various organized religions react?  (Since religious people tend to believe anything they are told to, we only need concern ourselves with the leaderships.)  Could Bible prophesy adapt?

Or would organized religions react the way they do to evolution?  The jury is still out, just a theory, and so on.

It’s kind of interesting to ponder on the way to finding out it’s a real situation.
