Amazon pilot: Philip K Dick's " The Man in the High Castle" January 21, 2015 1:45 pm Robert

Every year or so Amazon posts pilots for proposed TV series, and lets the public view and rate them. The ones that score high get produced as series.

Any self-respecting science fiction fan has at least heard of, if not read, Philip K. Dick’s 1962 novel “The Man in the High Castle”. And we all know that doing a movie or tv adaptation of a well-known classic is fraught with danger (I’m looking at you, Dino di Laurentis). But a TV series has one big advantage over a one-shot movie: The audience will be more forgiving of a pilot attempt when they know that the underlying source material is strong.

That’s how it was when I watched the Amazon-sponsored TV pilot. They did an adequate job–nice CGI, of course, especially the Third Reich SST disembarking passengers at SFO–which was enough for me to give it five stars to try and ensure that I see the rest of it. How can you miss, really, with the classic story of an alternate universe in which the Nazi’s won World War II?

It’s free in exchange for a review, a little under an hour, and I don’t think you’ll consider it a waste of time, even if you’re not as enthusiastic as I am. I admit I’m hoping to corral more up votes to support my agenda of seeing the remaining episodes, so please, help a bro out.

Thank you for attention to this matter.
