I’m a cordcutter, so this was my first chance to watch the show without paying more than I was willing to Google or Amazon. My son and I watched the pilot episode last night. My boy was grinning ear to ear the whole time. I like it a lot.

One subtle thing that surprised me was the droid is a full-fledged member of the crew.

R2D2 came close because it showed its own initiative and was so lovable, but C3p0 never really did feel like a full member of the crew. I always see 3p0 as a servant who will serve whatever master without regard to self-will. If he were to be captured by the Empire I have no doubt he would have served the Sith with the same level of incompetence and worry.

Chopper was better integrated into this crew and when he voted his vote counted. It’s going to be interesting to see if they take this anywhere.
