Crab Chilao January 12, 2014 5:57 pm ER

Illustration for post below in squid pro quo thread

I found crab chilao all over google, including recipes. I thought for a while I was the last guy in the world to eat any.

I know it looks like face-hugger stew, but the flavor is sublime. The brown, spheroidal object in the background is a croqueta de jaiba, a crab croquette (shredded crab meat rolled in batter and deep fat fried, sort of a Cuban hush puppy). Very good for the circulation.

Any cold domestic beer is recommended to wash it down, with flan for dessert, and café solo, un tabaco and a foursome of domino after to help the digestion.
