IYAM we should legalize dueling... May 22, 2013 8:41 am FrankC

Golfer Sergio Garcia (a euro) in an interview, answered a question regarding whether or not he would welcome Tiger Woods into his home. He answered something to the effect, “Sure, we could have some fried chicken”. The crowd responded with mixed gasps and laughter.

So, in the firestorm that has followed, he claims, as a euro, some degree of innocence on knowing that this is a racial slur, but he has profusely apologized. Tiger has issued a testy response but accepts the apology.

What a fucking waste of time. Garcia could have said Tiger is a worthless excuse for a human being and I would never have him in my house. This response to the question might be considered rude by some but it would not have caused the big hoorah that his “racial” remark has caused.

If we had dueling Tiger could have challenged him and either exposed him as a poltroon for refusing the challenge, killed him for the remark (or died himself) in the duel, or satisfied his honor by the exchange of fire. If none of this is worth it, the remark should go unnoticed.
