A FB post got me thinking about this December 7, 2012 7:08 pm FrankC

Homosexuality – a biological reality

Homophobia – a lifestyle choice

I agree with the former and the latter but I do believe that genetic is a better choice of words over biological since the term biological implies that it might be changed/cured, similar to a gender change. Genetic homosexuals are hardwired and can’t be altered.

In certain instances I am of the opinion that homosexuality is a lifestyle choice. I have known individuals that claim this, but this is incidental and proves nothing.

It is well known that bisexuals pursue male and female partners equally. I have never seen a study on it but I think that in later life these switch hitters tend to wind up exclusively on one side or the other. There may be stats that show they usually wind up on the homosexual side but I doubt it. I would bet on close to 50/50. Bisexuality has been common in the history of humanity far longer than it has been consider deviate behavior.  I have read that in Rome, bisexuality was considered to be no more than promiscuity, while oral sex in any form was considered to be deviate behavior.

Homophobia can also be biological/genetic since sometimes stupidity is a biological/genetic misfortune.
