"Bones" and the onslaught of fictional computer capabilities. November 20, 2012 10:03 am RobVG

My wife loves the crime shows- CSI, Bones, SVU, the Mentalist etc. I watch but often wonder why we as a society so enjoy violent entertainment. But that’s beside the point.

Last night on “Bones”, they pulled up a half dozen images of hand tools, one of which could have been the murder weapon. They zoomed in on the claw hammer and modeled it in 3D and then highlighted the serrated edge with a pink animated squiggly line- all in about 3 seconds.

One of the other shows has a geeky blond who can search any database in the country in a matter of seconds.

Hell, I’m even starting to wonder if holographic touch screens are real.
