You heard it here first. March 22, 2012 9:49 am ER

I got a call from my brother in Fort Myers today. He says the real estate business in his town is starting to pick up–like gangbusters!

Bro is a mortgage broker, he knew it was only a matter of time before the market came back and he kept up his licenses and certifications while his colleagues quit in droves and got part time and temp jobs. He lost his mortgage broker position even before the market crashed, so he’s been driving a delivery truck for the last three years. He is now in a good position to take advantage of new business.

This is significant, because SW Florida was one of the hardest hit real estate markets, and the fact it seems to be recovering is particularly significant.
