I’ve been following Abigail Spanberger’s career since she was first elected to Congress in 2018, winning in a republican leaning district. A former CIA agent and former first responder, she has been a moderate voice of reason in the Democratic Party. She drew some ire from the far left following the 2020 election when she harshly criticized the idiotic “defund the police” rhetoric that cost Democrats a potentially much stronger majority in Congress that year. She later healed may of those wounds by working on issues with those far leftists that they had common ground on. Now Governor of VA, she will be even more on the national stage. This lady is the future of the party.
