Collins has made a lot of bad votes but she did vote to impeach Trump. She knows what an unimaginable POS he is. She has been a moderate voice, along with Lisa Murkowski, in the GOP. And the nation desperately needs that party to moderate FFS. But I personally want to see a Democratic Senate so badly I would almost certainly end up voting for this deeply flawed, unqualified extremist. And it's a very similar vibe I'm sure many republicans feel who hold their noses and vote for the Orange Criminal POS. Sadly, this is the choice left to Maine voters after the far left chose Platner over uber-qualified Janet Mills. Honestly, it’s sad I have to actually think about it. If this was a parliamentarian system there is no way AOC and the Squad would be in the same party as Henry Cuellar or the other 28 Blue Dogs in the current House or Reps. The Democratic Party is a big tent though. And yes of course we treat bad behavior differently than the GOP; we're better than they are! And we should stay that way. Or, is it image before substance? Politics is marketing. Is it who runs for office in the first place? Difference being that, in general, bad behavior in the left gets punished.
