Trump pledges to end birthright citizenship. July 28, 2024 3:02 pm ER

https://news.yahoo.com/litigation-certainty-trumps-call-end-130000195.html

“The United States is among the only countries in the world that says even if neither parent is a citizen or even lawfully in the country, their future children are automatic citizens the moment the parents trespass onto our soil,” Trump said in the video.

This means according to Trump, I am not a citizen of the USA. My mother and father were both born in the United States, over a century ago, and I can prove it, I have their birth certificates. My Mother was born in New York city in 1920. My father was born in Tampa, Florida in 1911. But all four of my grandparents were from Cuba, and emigrated to the USA in the first decade of the 20th century. As far as I know, they never became “legal” aliens (in those days, nobody really checked.) Even if they were naturalized legally, I doubt if any records from that era survive. I could never prove it, they all had common names which they share with thousands of other Cuban immigrants.

I was born in Tampa in 1947, but according to this proposed denial of “birthright citizenship” my parents may not have been Americans according to the Trump definition, and therefore, I ain’t either.

How ’bout that shit?
