I had a discussion with a democrat friend about Biden stepping down July 10, 2024 8:35 am BuckGalaxy

She was absolutely adamant that we stick with Joe. It was all the media’s fault. The Ruskies were probably involved too. Joe had a bad night and that’s it.

I mentioned the widespread reports coming out about Biden having freezing moments, losing his train of thought, repeating stories he had mention minutes earlier, and of course the very noticable physical slowing. When the debate started he shuffled his way to the podium and looked absolutely ancient. And then of course there are the sliding poll numbers.

Nothing would move her. She was noticiably getting angry and offended, and I made clear my deep love, admiration and respect for Joe Biden, but this was about realism.

Then came this: “He’s discussing it with his family and it’s their decision alone to make.”

So it’s one family’s decision about something that will change the course of human history? It’s one family decision, who will defensively and unobjectively back Joe, when the stakes are so mind boggling high for the nation and entire planet? It’s not like they’re ordering fucking takeout here! They’re not deciding where to send their granddaughters to college.

Needless to say the conversation ended on a bad note.
