Chat GPT is getting dumber August 15, 2023 8:31 pm RL

I was asking it to do some calculations, and it was clear it was telling me horseshit… so to pinpoint the problem I asked how many cubic meters are in a cubic kilometer….

This is its answer:

There are 1,000,000,000,000 (one trillion) cubic meters in a cubic kilometer.

To convert from cubic kilometers to cubic meters, you simply multiply by this conversion factor:

Cubic meters=Cubic kilometers×1,000,000,000,000

Wrong by a factor of 1000…

What is causing it to go mad?

Note: it is now giving the right answer of 1 billion, but yesterday evening it was repeatedly saying 1 trillion
