Paranoia strikes deep June 25, 2023 8:45 am ER

As part of my Sunday morning ritual, I watch Meet the Press on NBC, followed immediately by Face the Nation on CBS. Both shows featured interviews with US Secretary of State
Antony Blinken, the main topic was the Prigozhin/Wagner Mutiny in Russia.

I watched both programs, back to back. I watched Chuck Todd interview the Secretary, then Margaret Brennan do the same a few minutes later. It wasn’t until I was about half-way through Ms Brennan’s interview that I realized they were the same questions, and the same answers, word for word! I realize that there would be similar questions (and responses) no matter which journalist was involved. But this was different. The questions, the wording, the phrasing, were (as far as I can tell from memory) identical. Its as if both journalists received a list of approved questions to pose to SecState, and he only had to sit down once in front of a camera to answer them. Of course, I don’t have both transcripts in front of me so I can prove my suspicions, all I have is my memory, but as far as I can tell it was the same interview, word-for-word. The only difference was the person asking the questions.

Maybe I’m exaggerating this, but after the events of this weekend, I am ready to believe anything.
