"He who can destroy a thing, controls a thing." September 29, 2022 6:51 pm ER

But what good would it do the Russians to destroy their own pipeline? All they really need to do is turn it on
and off at the source in order to reward or punish their customers. Besides, isn’t it their pipeline? Didn’t they
spend big bucks building it? And if they destroy it, it cannot be easily repaired before it is ruined by seawater corrosion on the interior.
Besides, after the Ukraine issue is resolved and the gas flows again, everybody benefits. It sounds just like the sort of mean, nasty, thing Petutlant Putin would do, but I can’t see how he plans to gain from it.

One thing is certain, it wasn’t an accident. The pipe breaks are just outside NATO waters (inside and it would be an act of war). This was planned.

Cold it be a weapon? Just think if that methane catches fire. But sooner or later, the pipeline will be empty, unless he pumps more gas into it, and then everyone will know its him that’s doing it. Actually, it would be better if it DID catch fire. CO2 isn’t as bad a greenhouse gas as CH4.

Could it have been some agent who didn’t want the EU to cave in to Russian demands, and they acted by removing the temptation to do so? The Ukrainians might benefit, but they don’t have the capability. And the NATO countries don’t need any desperate gambits, they are winning.

I’m baffled.
