I was for new-comer Maggie (Kari Warner) and her bravado and military tactics. A lot of times pretty good, but sometimes verging on the idiotic.

...And there had been that Virtual Earth episode, where Quinn Mallory - Alpha had built a virtual love nest for himself and his virtual Maggie, but there's an emergency -- and the non-virtual Maggie breaks in on the two of them in bed.

Spoiler, you then find out it had all been a virtual experience for Maggie who had been taken prisoner and was under virtual interrogation. Worlds within worlds, wheels within wheels -- weird within weird.

Charismatic, feisty, hot-headed physics Ph.D. Maximillian Arturo (John Rhys-Davies) (I believe he was supposed to be Quinn Malory’s college professor) is shot and killed on a distant "Earth" and leaves the show, with a transition of picking up new slider Maggie Beckett (Kari Warner) when that "Earth" (hers) is destroyed, blown up, annihilated by the dreaded Kromaggs (and so the show's inevitable death is just a matter of slides away). Odd that no thought was given to the idea of picking up a new Maximillian Arturo from some shadow Earth, but then talking John Rhys-Davies into returning might have been a bit expensive.

Genius brothers Quinn (slider-phenom inventor) and Colin Mallory (Jerry and Charlie O'Connel) are metaphysically joined into one idiot character and so leave the show (I called him Quinn Mallory - Beta) (Robert Floyd).

Wade Wells (Sabrina Lloyd) is captured by the notorious Kromaggs and brutally experimented upon, in an uncharacteristic charge of courage eventually sacrificing herself for team and home-world.

This leaves useless but suddenly brilliant Rembrandt Brown (Cleavant Derricks) to take over the complex reigns of siding from universe to universe.

The show failed because either the main actors' hearts were not really in it, or management decided they had incorrectly cast this trans-dimensional version of Gilligan's Island and the show became -- Lost.
