135 broken records - I just heard it on the news. July 14, 2020 1:34 pm hank

In the Miami/Broward area of SE Florida the high temperature record has been broken 135 times this year. This means the high temperature afternoon high record for that date was broken, or the highest temperature for that day’s morning low was broken. And this is only mid-July.

This is Florida, the summers are hot here and they last a long time. Morning temperatures in the 80s and afternoon temperatures in the 90s are not uncommon. Overall highs in the 100s are not unheard of either.

But a long string of broken records like this is unprecedented. The weather guys on TV are going nuts.
