I guess I rant here because my wife doesn't want to talk, or even think about it. She is so angry and so crushed by what this thug and his petty gangsters are doing to our country that I'm afraid it will lead to real unhappiness and despair on her part, so I bring it here to get it off MY chest. I can't talk about it at home because it upsets her so. So you poor sods get to share my righteous indignation.

But in a way, I must confess I'm sort of enjoying it all. I'm getting to old for much of it to affect me personally, I'll be dead before things get really bad, and I've had a good run up to now. Global Warming, Killer Plague, Russian Aggression, Economic Collapse, Chinese Hegemony, Fascist Theocracy...What, me worry?

And in a way, it sort of justifies and reinforces a lot of the suspicions and prejudices I've held over the years. These goons have always played a role in our national life but I've always suspected that if they ever got full control of the country, they'd run it into the ground in only a matter of months. And now I know it for sure. They have proven me right, in spades.

Mea culpa. Yes, I feel guilty about it, and it really accomplishes nothing constructive. But, I can't help but saying it over and over and over....I TOLD YOU SO!

I hadn't noticed the change myself. Before I guess I was being oblique, like writing the imaginary screen play. But as I moved from act to act, then a sequel, then a trilogy, then a Game of Thrones length series, I became less amused.

I started watching the Covid tale unfold in late December. When China shut down cities in response, Mrs. P and I started getting worried - and prepared. We had an informal "escalation ladder" to guide our response. We started cancelling social engagement in February. I had hoped that our government was paying the same attention, impeachment or not.

But their anti-science mind set held fast. And here we are, stuck at home, missing family, missing travel, simple things now are difficult and full of fear.

I'm angry because almost 130,000 Americans are dead. I'm pissed because a mob family is seemingly, actively, working to destroy this country so they can pick the meat off the bones. For my own mental and physical health I have stopped watching the train wreck as much as I used to. I think I rant here to save Mrs. P. from my emotional purges.

I have to admit, it sure looks that way to me too.

But I'll be damned if I can figure out how they intend to do it. It is pretty obvious (to everyone) that our our failure to make headway against Covid is purely an artifact of Trumpism, in spite of his lame efforts to blame the Chinese, Obama, the Democrats, etc etc. But I don't see how that can be turned into anything but a liability come election time. If its indeed a strategy, I can't see how it will be deployed.

It still LOOKS like the Corona Crisis is indeed a deliberate attempt by the Trump regime to bring down America. Sure, I'm willing to concede its probably more a case of stupidity and incompetence than sheer malignant treachery, but I have to confess it still looks more like the latter than the former. Even his base must see that. The best the trogs can do is to try to make mask-wearing into a Liberal conspiracy to bring down the Republic.

What is he going to say come November; "We must continue our successful efforts to control this virus or who knows what disaster might occur if Biden takes over?" The only possible strategy I can see is; "The disruption caused by the virus makes it essential we postpone our election until...". Which not only keeps Trump in power, but maintains the GOP majority in the Senate. Indefinitely.

And once the first Presidential election in American history is "postponed", then anything is possible.

Or have I noticed a marked increase in your Trump hostility lately?

Don't get me wrong, you've never come across as a Trumper, but in the past you've made it a point to avoid political rants, and have been scrupulously fair and moderate when you did let your opinions show. But lately, I have noted a decided increase in your political passions, and a definite loss of patience with POTUS and his peckerhead partisans. Was it one final straw that broke the camel's back, or has the cumulative weight of continuous outrage and indignation finally led you to discard your natural fairness and moderation?

Too bad they waited til it was too late...
Too bad they worked so hard to chain themselves to the helm.

The next few months will be the most dangerous period we have had as a nation since its founding.

There is a reason this administration is doing everything the experts say will guarantee COVID disaster in the fall... they are turning it into a re-election strategy.

And if it looks like he will still lose come October, you can count on all hell breaking loose.

He needs to stay in power in order to avoid being held responsible for his crimes, and he does not care how many American corpses it takes to do that.

And for a long time now. I'm just surprised that Mother Russia hasn't moved on their constructed chaos. Sure, there have been the close fly-by patrols in the Mediterranean, the Baltic Sea, off Alaska. That behavior has always gone on. But that they haven't moved on Ukraine or the Baltics?

Maybe Putin is waiting for the Trump Troop Reduction in Germany to reach a certain level, move during that chaotic event.

Or maybe he just sits back and laughs, downs the shot of vodka, and tosses the glass into the fire, amusedly watching his pet pull the weft from the warp.

Either DJT is an useful, collared idiot; a purposeful, greedy traitor; or, he's just in love with bullies.

Great Again!
