Almost everybody made mistakes, and sometimes they repeated each other's mistakes! But eventually, most countries got it right and they got a handle on the problem. It still remains to be seen if everybody will come out of this with relatively limited damage, but at least it appears most of the major, industrialized nations have turned the corner on this. And they did it it by paying attention to their public health authorities. Let's face it, dealing with epidemics has been a fairly well-established science for more than a century now. It is not a "high tech" exercise. All it requires is a little management skill, something which our business-oriented capitalist politics should have no trouble coming up with.

We have no lack of money, resources and talent in this country and we have excellent public communications and logistic capability. If we don't get this sorted out soon we'll know exactly who's to blame.

Well, we do travel for pleasure more than most HUGE countries. The Eisenhower Plan for the transport of goods and dual-coast defense across this nation turned out to be custom-made for the unhindered spread communicable disease.

I recall being asked where the safest place from COVID-19 might be. I said go home, park your car, stay.

Places are opening back up now. I think that should have been delayed a few more weeks (at least 2 - 3). Like lowering the thermostat just a couple degrees in winter, the difference in our rebound might have been impressive.

Zoom.com your needed companions, grocery shop online, email and chat. Pop some corn and watch another hundred movies. Stop driving just to drive. Accidents still happen, breakdowns occur and you'll need to interact when that tank runs dry. Park it!

Well ... we'll see.

First in infections, first in deaths! And we had to play catch-up to the rest of the world!.

We're number one! We're number one! And we did it with a shortage of masks and tests!

American Exceptionalism at its finest. And I bet we'll be the only nation with a secondary Corona spike come this fall.
