But the fact remains, its not guaranteed we will survive Trump without fatal damage, and even if we do, those that have supported him will still be with us, and eager to cause as much malicious trouble as they can. Look at what they did to keep Obama down. Its going to take a generation for them to fade away entirely. And its not just the Trumpanzees I fear. They are ignorant and uneducated, but they can't help the way they are. What really scares me are those who are not fools or helpless, but those who went along with Trump because they were getting what they wanted from him even though they may have not particularly cared for him or believed in his policies. There are too many Americans with money, influence and power who knew all along Trump was a fraud and a bully, a thug and an ignoramus, but who went along with him because he was financially advantageous for them. You can educate the ignorant, but this kind of cynicism, especially in the hands of capable and powerful men, is destructive to any democracy. Germany had people like that too. They wound up working for the Communist regime in the East, they never skipped a beat, and they fit right in. And we've got them too, in spades.
