It is fall in the southern hemisphere, and the amount of sea ice floating around Antarctica is increasing by the day; but as of today, 7 May, there is less sea ice floating around the south pole than there has ever been on this date.  Which means that there is less sea ice floating on all the world&#039;s oceans today than on any 7th of May since satellites starting monitoring sea ice.</description>
