Fascists need scapegoats, fear and loathing of the OTHER is a reliable and time-honored tactic to inflame the masses and distract them from your real economic and cultural agendas. Lately, I've been noting a concerted effort to re-introduce Socialists onto the shit list, but it may be a bit too late. Suddenly, "Socialism" isn't the dirty word it used to be..., politicians are running as Socialists, and getting elected! And Socialist policies, particular in health care, are suddenly being discussed openly when only two short years ago they were the kiss of death to any candidate who espoused them. Yep, Mr Trump has kick-started a whole new era in Progressive politics in America. In spite of the new campaign to ban refugees (because they're brown) have you noticed how a special exception is being made for Venezuelans? Its going to be like the Cuban exiles in the 1960s--special considerations are being applied for them because they are fleeing from Socialism. only gays and Liberals are available as targets.
