Perhaps we need to create some moral allegories that warn of the dangers of making such Faustian Bargains, that way people would have some sort of warning that selling your souls and your children's future in exchange for the promises of a known liar always ends badly... That way even idiots like Trump voters might have some warning of the dangers... How were these poor dumb bastards to know that putting an ignorant con-man, cheat, criminal, bigot in power might come back to bite them?
