The German business class of the 1930s supported Hitler because he would suppress the Communists, control the unions and otherwise make things easier and simpler for the interests of Capital.

They thought they could control him. They were mistaken.

What you say about republicans and their long term agenda and goals I generally agree with.

But this is an aberration. While Trump may support much of their agenda, it cannot be ignored that he is a criminal. He is a traitor. He is dangerously ignorant on all aspects of policy.

The GOP elite are horrified with what Trump is doing to America's standing in the world. And terrified by the midterm's blue wave and what it will mean in 2020.

They were forced to try him out as a front man. You know they would rather have Pence.

The way I see it, Trump is the front man for a conservative agenda that Pence, and the rest of the far Right, still fully support (even though they may have lost control of him). Pence may not find it possible to explicitly impose that agenda in the event Trump is removed, but he will still do everything he can behind the scenes to make it happen, and he will have plenty of allies, not all of them ignorant and alienated masses. Any failures on his part to do so will be tactical, not strategic. He may fail to pull it off, but he won't stop trying. And he will carefully avoid Trump's mistakes this time around.

The Right has already demonstrated that they will put up with downright immoral, illegal, treasonous and criminal activity in order to get their program passed. If Trump goes too far and must be removed, they won't feel any differently about it, they'll just act a little more judiciously.

As front man, Trump is the big motivator for the Deplorables, the Archie Bunkers in the GOP, the Tea Party, the Freedom Caucus, the fundowackos, the Alt-Right and the neo- and crypto-fascist elements that have been scurrying out of the woodwork since Obama got elected. The rest of the leadership of the Party, the money people and theoreticians, the Big Business caste and the intellectuals, pundits, think tanks, academics, bloggers and so on, will simply change their tactics. The Trumpers are
their Penal Battalions, sent out to find the minefields and identify the strongest points of resistance. Their follow-up, benefiting from that reconnaissance-in-force, will be more subtle.

But the final goal is still the same, a nation organized for the benefit of the ownership class and the corporate elite and their executive leadership; where all other national issues are subordinate to a policy of no taxes, no welfare, no entitlements, no safety net and no labor, safety, workplace, financial, consumer or environmental regulation. A nation where the working class is so terrified of losing their job that they will put up with any crap at work to be able to hold on to that job. The nation will remain forever divided as the bulk of its citizens compete desperately against one another for a constantly diminishing resource base. GDP and productivity rise, but the standard of living falls. Its been happening for half a century now. So where is all that wealth going?

This policy requires that the average citizen be always one step behind, just short of poverty, living from paycheck to paycheck, in debt and constantly threatened. The Conservative movement wants an America that looks like the Gilded Age of the late 19th and early 20th century, great extremes of wealth and poverty, with all the benefits of the new technology flowing up, to a tiny elite at the top.

Maybe I'm a little bit too ideological, but that's how I see it. This ain't about Trump. We've been at war with this crowd for well over a century now. He's just their latest weapon.

Look at what those cowardly assholes did in the last couple of days. They voted en masse to give Trump his $5 billion, *knowing* that the Dems would stand up to the orange baby and say no.

So with their tails between their legs again, they lick Trump's feet, garnering his favor and that of the imbeciles who support him, comfy in the knowledge that--because Dems have spines--the government wouldn't actually have to cough up billions for that fucking wall. At least not yet, anyway.

The GOP is comprised of unprincipled cowards who will never lift a finger against their Very Stable Genius, lest he decide to unleash the terror of a Twitter torrent against them. I don't think they'll move against him regardless of what lunacy he unleashes.

“Fox &Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade on Friday said President Trump had "re-founded ISIS" and was giving Russia "a big win" with his decision to pull U.S. troops from Syria.

Kilmeade made the remarks during an interview with White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

“He also is doing exactly what he criticized President Obama for doing. He said President Obama is the founder of ISIS,” Kilmeade pointed out. “He just refounded ISIS because they have 30,000 men there and they are already striking back with our would-be evacuation. The president is really on the griddle with this.”

Sanders said she “respectfully and vehemently ” disagreed with Kilmeade.

"The idea that the president has had anything to do with helping ISIS reemerge is absolutely outrageous," she said.

“Leaving is helping,” Kilmeade said. “Leaving is helping.”

Of course the crazies predated Trump Sane republicans gave a wink and a nod to the nutcases that emerged when Obama was elected because they thought they could ride that tiger back to power. Instead it led to Trump. But Trump is more than that. He is all of the stupidity of the Teatards in every way it is manifested, plus he is the deeply flawed, narcissistic, lazy, incurious, impulsive, criminal, traitor we see every day. A transparent conman pretending to be a nationalist in its worst form, when in fact he is nothing more than a Selfist. A man who equated neo-nazis with those protesting against them. Criminal self dealings in his businesses, charities, inauguration committee, administration... it goes on and on. Again, this is way more than teatard stupidity. When Mueller's report is released and the extent of Trump's crimes are known, by then maybe the GOP in the Senate may just say fuck this criminal and get Pence in there. Trump will be having a meltdown of epic proportions at that time. His instability scares the shit out of everyone now, imagine then. It's possible ewnough senators will agree to put a stop to this menace. And Pence certainly wouldn't be imposing the agenda you listed above.

Give up their tax cuts? Restore environmental regs, including the fight against global warming? Re-institute worker-friendly laws and financial monitoring? Allow Obamacare, or something like it to replace it? To risk losing the loyalty vote of the Deplorables and knuckledraggers and the rest of the racist, inbred, banjo-plucking, hair-on-their-teeth trailer trash that has come to characterize the Grand Old Party of Abraham Lincoln?

Or to admit publicly that the Liberals were right all along, that the Conservatives were not only wrong, but KNEW they were wrong from the beginning and chose to back this perverse orange dildo anyway?

No, they will either support the Trumpers, or simply disappear and pretend nothing is happening until this all blows over. (Kind of like the Conservatives right here on the Zone.)

And later, when the nation settles down to cleaning up the messes and putting out the fires the Right has inflicted on us, they will re-emerge with detailed and well-rehearsed arguments about how the devastation we are experiencing are really all Obama and Clinton's fault, with the help of the MSM, Leftist academics, the Deep State and the Liberal elites.

You see, Trump IS NOT THE PROBLEM. Its the people who knew exactly who he was but wanted him and then supported him in order to further their own agenda. They are the disease. Trump is just a symptom.
