Most of these are Central American refugees or indigenous people (Amerinds) from Mexico. They are desperate, ignorant tribal people, many do not even speak Spanish. There may be a few who can’t cross the border legally because they have been caught and deported before, so they will be flagged at the regular border crossings when they show their ID.

The real immigration problem is Mexicans crossing the border looking for work, and they cross at the major crossings, along with thousands of other Mexicans who come across for the day, every day, to visit relatives, shop, go to the dentist, to school, go to Disneyland, etc. The illegals that are a real threat to our workers simply cross legally and overstay their visas, they do not cross wilderness areas. And as I have pointed out frequently here, they are welcomed here by unscrupulous and hypocritical businessmen as a source of cheap labor. As for the druggies and hardened criminals, the Wall will do little to discourage them. They have immense resources, they have boats, planes, eighteen wheelers and tunnels. They don’t come across in small bands across the desert in the middle of the night.

Trump must know this. The multi=billion dollar Wall will barely scratch the surface of the illegal alien problem, even if it works as advertised. He is building it solely to keep his Deplorable constituency happy, it has nothing to do with securing the border. Its just so he can claim he is doing SOMETHING, and it will feed the bitterness, hatred and anger of his racist followers.

Like I said, he knows this. He must. And the Republican party knows this too. The scale of the hypocrisy is truly breathtaking.
