He was Session's office gofur, NOT a deputy AG. When Sessions was fired the AG position should have gone to Rosenstein, instead it went to this dude. From the beginning, Rosenstein was unwilling, and Sessions didn't have the balls, to do the job (i.e., fire Mueller). The new Congress won't be sworn in until January. By that time, this guy should be comfortably settled in office, and all his potential opposition be silenced or identified. Or, as they say in Russian: <em>fait acompli.</em> He's a party hack with the minimum credentials to hold the office suddenly promoted to a position way over his head and above his pay grade--simply because he has the political connections.
