No did not make DC, tried to make the local one, but last minute medical issues sabotaged us(not serious, but required immediate attention- I missed work that day from a stomach bug, and just before we were going to go at 5 my wife had to get an emergency preventative dose of antibiotics after a tick bite- lyme disease is a real concern here)

We got there way late and it was over - from the videos online it looked like the crowd was at least 100s... https://twitter.com/search?q=Silver%20Spring%20Maryland%20%23protectMueller&src=typd&lang=en

More in the next town over, and a huge crowd in DC....

So, RL, did you go into DC? It'd have the most impact to swell the crowds there than anywhere else. And there's something ennobling about peacefully petitioning the government for redress of our grievances right on its doorstep.

Here at the state capitol, a speaker got applause by reminding us that the building behind her belonged to us, and it made for an impressive moment with the marble building illuminated in the dark by spotlights behind her.

But a few minutes later, the liberals started doing what we always do, diluting our focus with a scattershot message. Shortly after one speaker reminded us the capitol belonged to us, another speaker reminded us that this land used to belong to a Native American tribe. Distinctly mixed message; was I welcome there, or not?

But still, there were the forecast 2,500 people, and a good time was had for democracy. There were easily ten times as many for events like the Women's March, and the students' march against gun violence. But I think that number times the couple of thousand events organizers were hoping for, keeps Trash Mussolini on notice that we'll never give an inch without a fight.

I was signed up with MoveOn to get the alert, and that worked.

Should be nice weather for a rousing protest, and good vibe, coming off the election. Us and what army? How about our army of House committees with subpoena power, Donnie?

On Tuesday I voted, on Thursday I march. It's good to be an American.
