They can now do anything they want and point to the USA as the ones that destroyed the treaty...

And its not just the Russians that will be unconstrained...

Yet again, Trump has put all humanity in greater peril...

According to Wikipedia

On 20 October 2018, President Donald Trump announced that he was withdrawing the US from the treaty.[5] However, due to the US Constitution's Treaty Clause and because the Treaty was in fact approved by the two-thirds US Senate vote which governs this clause, Trump cannot withdrawal (sic) from this Treaty without the approval of two thirds of the US Senate.

Will Trump try to get us out of the Treaty without Congressional supermajority approval? Will the Democrats cooperate, or just try and sabotage Trump just because he's Trump? Will the GOP simply step aside and let Trump get his way in spite of Democratic objections (if any), which would violate Constitutional precedent? To be fair to Mr Trump, according to Newsweek, the UK agrees with Trump's assessment, so maybe he IS justified in pushing for withdrawal.

Still, its sad that I feel I need for a foreign country to concur with my President before I trust him and accept his decisions on foreign policy. Its also sad that even though I don't believe my party would block Trump's policy if it was demonstrated to be necessary for natural security--I still am not absolutely certain they won't. And its also sad that I fear the Republican party might violate the Constitution to get their way, even if it was justifiable on national security grounds.
