They are fighting a proxy war for us in Yemen. They are also now reaching accommodation with Israel. Then again, maybe the reasoning is purely economic. They buy our weapons and industrial goods and financial services and they dominate OPEC, making it difficult for Iran, Russia, Venezuela and other hostile nations to use oil for leverage. But I also suspect the Trumps are getting kickback$ from the Kingdom for his political and economic support, and that they launder money for the House of Saud just like they do for the Kremlin Oligarchs. America wanted a government run like a business. Well, now they've got one.
