In spite of the fact she has not been in elected office for 9 years or appointed office for 5 years and she was effectively out of the public eye after losing the election almost two years ago, she continues to attract fear and loathing from the Redneck Right. They had every chance to "lock her up" and blew it, even when they controlled the Congressional Committees investigating her. They simply could not put together a convincing case to anyone outside the Deplorable Bubble. If I was them I'd be a lot more more worried about Liz Warren than Hillary Clinton. But Helen Keller...??? The "Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills" reference suggests that the inspiring and historically significant Helen Keller story is simply of no value to advancing the fundamental goal of Texas education: the mass production of human automata suitable for corporate recruitment. After Pharaoh died, she assumed the role of regent, and then Pharaoh, ruling Egypt (apparently quite successfully) until her death, when her stepson ascended the throne as an adult. Why he waited so long after her death to "erase history" we will probably never know. My guess is it probably was for political reasons. Hatshepsut had a natural daughter with Thutmose II, perhaps she was still alive and making a claim on the throne; it could certainly be argued she had precedent. Evidence of a successful former female Pharaoh may been embarrassing or threatening to Thutmose III.
