I hate to come across as prejudiced against a whole "creed", but I've been raised among an entire population of these people; and I was brought up in a culture and community dominated by their ethos and their philosophy. I don't trust them. I'll be the first to admit that I have known exceptions, but as a rule, they are congenital hypocrites. He’s an evangelical Christian, isn’t he?

It'd be interesting to watch the evangelical reaction, though, if Pence did turn out to be the author. For many, he's been their not-so-secret hope all along, but would he still be their guy after Trump started calling him a Judas? His denials have been pretty convincing, though. Is he that good an actor? Pence might not be quite as nuts as Trump–or perhaps it’s just not as obvious–but a president with Pence’s deep mistrust of science would constitute yet another disaster for the country.
