Armies are only organized mobs. Turning civilized humans into cold killers... making a science of the mob mentality and calling it 'noble'. I have avoided large sporting events like the plague for this reason... the mindless cheering and boo-ing- its like being surrounded by hooting primates- yelling mindless aggression over a pointless silly game... Even parents at a little league game hurling insults and abuse at children. I had to force myself to join rallies and marches over the past 2 years- always wary of it turning into an unthinking mob- I was pleasantly surprised when my fears never materialized... Of course the March for Science and the Women's March weren't likely candidates for such problems.
