		<description>He and Michael Steel (former RNC chairman, eventually replaced by Reince Priebus) were often the token Conservatives on MSNBC, and strongly defended traditional GOP policies and provided cogent criticism of Democratic proposals while avoiding, and even criticizing, the more wacko positions and personalities the Right was starting to adopt. (That was back during the Klown Kar era.)

Schmidt was John McCain&#039;s campaign manager during the 2008 campaign, and I suppose he shares some responsibility for foisting Sara Palin on us, but I have since come to forgive him for that.  Woody Harrelson played him in the movie.

I&#039;d like to see both these gentlemen come to advise the Democrats.  Honorable Conservatives would be an asset to the Liberal narrative, and I know that their own party now has nothing but contempt for either of them.</description>
