Then they said global temps were actually dropping, not rising.

Then they told us the changes, if real, were not measurable.

Then they said the causes were natural, not due to human activity.

Then they claimed “scientists were not in agreement”.

Then they told us it was a Communist plot.

Then they told us it was a climatologist’s conspiracy to get grant money.

Then they said “more research is needed”.

Then they conceded AGW was anthropogenic, but nothing could be done about it because it would wreck the economy.

Then they said even if it was true, nothing could be done about it because other countries would cheat.

Then they said climate change, and higher CO2 levels were actually GOOD for us.

They will never run out of excuses why we should do nothing.

It is tempting to think that they are confused and can’t get their stories straight, but I submit it is just the opposite. They know perfectly well what is going on and why but they will do everything they can to stop or delay any corrective measures because it will cost them money, because it will interfere with their never ending quest to accumulate profits. Even those who are not part of the corporatist and ownership castes feel they are entitled to be so because of their ideological predispositions. These people are mercenaries, war profiteers, arms merchants, drug dealers, pimps, gangsters, slavers…or believe they have a god-given right to be so.

In the end he was willing to sell out every one of his loosely held ideals when his masters told him to.
