They are the ones who did their jobs and played by the rules and are now too scared or angry to admit that their docility was used against them, that they were systematically conned and lied to by the very people they admired, the people they wanted to be like. But those people don’t need them any more and they are cutting them loose to fend for themselves.

This has been coming now for a generation, others saw the signs and tried to warn them, to get them to help stop it while there was still time. But they wouldn’t listen, and now the wolf is at their door and its too late to do anything but follow the first bully that comes along and offers them a better deal, and someone they can blame for their problems.

So what are “they” doing? They are getting angry, and mean, and refusing to see the truth when its laid out in front of them, dismissing the obvious signs as some media lie pushed by Liberal “elites” because it would mean they have to admit first they were wrong all along–and they can’t bear to ever do that. The only “elites” out there are those who can afford to buy politicians and political advertising. And “they” fell for both.

Do you really want to know who “they” are. I’ve seen them in all the workplaces I worked in all of my life. I guess I was even one myself! They are the ones whose parents beat the Nazis and survived the Depression, and then they moved to the suburbs and got well paid factory and white collar jobs. But they wouldn’t join the unions or vote Democrat because they figured they wanted to be Management and live in all-white suburbs. They saw themselves, or their children, as Management material, all they had to do was act and think and believe and vote like Management and they (or their children) would be rewarded by Management by a seat at the table.

Well, it didn’t work out, did it? But Trump, and others like him, aren’t done with them yet. They’re still trying to squeeze a little more out of them. They’re even getting them hooked on opiates and harvesting their kids for cannon fodder; it’s right in front of their face and they can’t even see it.

And you know, I have very little sympathy for the lot of them.

But we do. We the people through collective action save each others’ lives all the time. And decent people don’t stop to consider the size of their wallet or the color of their skin.

Under the conservative vision of the world, you can’t save anybody and you can do very little good. You have to leave all that up to your “betters”. Your lot is to keep quiet and be grateful for what trickles down.

In the mainstream/liberal vision of a just world, there’d be no controversy about saving the life of a ten year old girl. We just do what’s right, together.

For pennies a day apiece.

Because we’re the people who understand how insurance pools work. We’re not actually idealists, just smarter money managers.

Do you EVER take a moment to think about how you have changed since you chained yourself to Trump? Does SOME part of you recognize how much you have allowed him to drag you down??

And for what? All you got was an erratic, inept criminal and a pile of broken promises and lies.

I suppose you avoid such self-examination… because how could you live with yourself?

As long as you continue to support Trump and his attacks on everyone and everything decent, you are they, Rob.

You personally are responsible for that little girl’s plight because you and they made it possible.

Y’know, Rob, when I think about it, you’ve managed to avoid saying clearly whether you still support Trump now, after your initial enthusiasm. You’re waffling.
