US Navy SEAL training, an insider's comment. May 15, 2016 10:41 pm bowser

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/three-navy-seal-trainees-last-four-classes-died-n573146

I was visiting with an US Army Special Operations guy way back in the early ’70s and he volunteered at that time they were organized to support NASA and it’s water landings.  Anything else they did was nice if they had the time.

As we chatted away this guy volunteered that the Army trained well and long and that those in charge cared if a trainee lived or died.  He was emphatic that the US Navy didn’t seem to care about those personnel and  seemed to kill and maim a disproportionate number of its candidates.  He put a lot of energy into his comments

I didn’t know one way or the other but recent events would seem to bear him out.
