I did see one of his films I liked, about him being a Dad who hires a Spanish girl as an au pair. I don't recall it as being a comedy, but I thought his dramatic performance was excellent. He used to do some comedy characters on late night talk shows I thought were pretty funny: "Opera Man" and "Cajun Man". But for the most part, his humor escaped me. I didn’t know he was a Republican until you mentioned it, I just thought he wasn’t funny.

Adam Sandler is apparently quite the Republican, but apparently also quite the professional. He doesn't seem to let the murk of politics dim his humor. I know, plenty of people think his humor is pretty dim to begin with, but I actually think he's still got it. His "The Ridiculous 6" is a hilarious celebration of everything that's crude and wrong.
