Have you been following the festivities a few miles north of here, up in Burlingame on the SF peninsula? I saw some raw footage of protestors knocking down a barricade and a couple dozen rushing the hotel, where they spent a few minutes nose-to-nose with a line of cops in riot gear. Then the cops got the order to advance, and promptly backed a dozen protesters into the fountain just behind them, for a nice WTF moment. But then they resumed the advance, and pushed the kids back out on to the street. The 1968 vibe is strong. It will be a long hot summer. While you’ve been bickering, events have continued to unfold.
