If climate change is the result of human activity, then it obviously can be slowed down or at least mitigated by modifying human activities, and of course, that means expensive technological solutions, enforced by restrictive regulation. That's going to cost money, which will come out of profits, which is all they really care about. Even if they are forced to accept climate change as real, they simply cannot afford to admit that it is man-made.
