Now that may be denied just as other things get denied when it’s embarrassing, and it’s true.

What relevance does it have to Martin Shkreli’s arrest and perp walk that the Sanders campaign received two million contributions, and that I made several of them? I can hear the trademark conservative sneer in the “loudly touting” jibe, but what’s your problem with that? Can you go a little deeper than sneering? Or is sneering all you got? I’m guessing the latter.

I appreciate that mcfly put a link in his article for those of us who’d slept in till noon and hadn’t heard about Shkreli’s perp walk, but I’d already read a dozens articles about before noon and didn’t feel the need. Gee sorry Tom…I think you were a little foolish to assume that everyone had read that particular article, out of all the thousands of articles published in a few hours on the subject. But no matter, you win because I didn’t read that article.

The Sanders campaign has been loudly touting the “two million” figure every place I can see. It’s on the tip of the tongue of every serious Bernie supporter out there. You posted the comment I responded to all of seven hours after bragging about being one of them. I didn’t think it would take a rocket belt to jump that gap.

Particularly since the donation was specifically mentioned in the Shkreli article Mcfly linked, which I foolishly assumed people read. That’s how I found out about the donation. That’s kind of a damn big breadcrumb.

I wonder if “shkreli” is going to supplant “douchebag” as an epithet soon? “Don’t be such a shkreli, man!”.

Or maybe it doesn’t have the “mouth”. Try saying “shkreli” aloud. Whereas “douchebag” lets you make a funny sound like somebody doing a cannonball into the pool–”douche! douche!”–making the “shkreli” sound is more like your mouth the morning after a kickass party, when your tongue is compulsively trying to scrape all the foul-tasting slime off your cheeks and teeth, so you can spit it into the toilet. People watching you say “shkreli” would understand you’re trying to spit out something foul.

So maybe “shkreli” won’t supplant “douchebag”, but how about “Damn, I got a bad case of shkreli-mouth! Hand me that kerosene and a match!”.

They are the lone proud and noble predators, deserving of their role as the lone culler of the herd; the top of the food chain, a role they have earned, one they deserve because of their strength, their courage, their iron will. They are the ambitious, the bold, the innovative, the truly creative.

They see us merely as a resource to be harvested.
