Securing the planet has fallen to the US -- though the current administration has no desire to get its shoes dirty, seeming to prefer backing away and waving a pointed stick to actual conflict -- ergo big military. Open access agreements held with the EU gives speed and power to ESA. China is still finding its niche, which might become a global technology and food supplier. India’s could be fabrics, perhaps exotic spices. And we are winning, bowser, it’s just hard to recognize. Shouting about it here on the net is a definite win. Eventually, people tire of the bull shit and the idiots in power are pulled down. All that's needed is the precedent, the example, the public coup d'état that any and all could witness.
