I just saw a great TV commercial, its about “retirement opportunities” in a country with “friendly people, beautiful beaches and forests, strong banking laws, low taxes, affordable real estate–and where English is spoken.”

I’d always thought the place was just another Mosquito Coast hellhole, but what do I know? I’ve never been there and I’ve never met anyone who has.

The ad starts off with some great subliminal content too. The opening scenes show a couple in bathing suits walking hand in hand away from the camera, down a beautiful beach: a pasty, pale skinned and gray haired old geezer with a beautiful brown-skinned lovely about forty years his junior.

I think I like the place already. Where do I sign up?
